We begin our tour at the Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat from where we will go to the “Santa Cova”, the place where the image of the Virgin was found in 880 AC. The discovery turned the place into a center of pilgrimage and led to the construction of the Monastery.

Later on, we’ll take the funicular up to “el Pla de les Taràntules” from where we’ll visit the hermitages of the Tebes area. Here we’ll enjoy breathtaking views on the valley; we’ll also be able to have an insight into the thrifty and simple life of the monks who used to live here, and we’ll discover the clever architecture invented by them to get water and shelter. We’ll reach the Santa Magdalena hermitage where we’ll make a stop to eat and rest (picnic lunch consisting on a loaf of bread, Spanish wine and local cold meats and cheese).

After lunch we’ll start the descent back to the Monastery. Once there you’ll have plenty of time to visit the museum, the cafeteria and the famous sanctuary that hosts the Black Virgin of Montserrat, ‘La Moreneta’, the patron saint of Catalonia.
