This route begins in the Raval, near “La Rambla de Santa Monica” but we’ll head straight to the Parallel Avenue passing through the ancient royal dockyards (Drassanes). Once in the Poble Sec we’ll learn when and how this neighborhood started to grow. We will explain the events that occurred here, from the bravest and violent ones to the most joyful moments of the Parallel nights. You will discover the history of an unknown hero before we reach our final destination, the shelter of Poble Sec 307, the best preserved bomb shelter in the city. Coming out of the dark tunnels of the shelter we’ll talk about the route while sipping an aperitif and eating some good “tapas” in a cool bar of this neighborhood.
This route will make you fall in love with Barcelona and her odd districts, and you will surely discover many things you didn’t know about the Poble Sec neighborhood and its influence on the history of our wonderful city.
